Construction is well underway, and the 2011 aircraft is nearing completion. Further testing has been performed to validate numerous aircraft components. Flight-testing is planned in order to verify the design, and to prove the performance of the aircraft.
The team has truly bonded as a group throughout the construction process. Throughout the 2011 build season, students have been gaining skills in different construction techniques and experience with numerous tools and machining equipment.
Further use of CAD technology to produce models and drawings of aircraft components, and to analyze the design has not only been an asset for the aero design competition, but has proven to be a valuable learning tool.
