Today started with a quick fix of the car… The rotors and hubs still had to be put together. As Kris was working on it, Luc and I started checking all the bolts and marking them, making sure not bolts loosen during the big race. Everything was set and the time at which we were to start endurance still had to be determined. While we sent someone to check our time out for endurance, Kris and I pondered about the pneumatic system, having to change the tank of compressed air after two runs was frightening.

Kris approached the car and placed his ear near the tank, a hissing sound could be noticed. At the same instance it was informed to us that we had 30 minutes until the endurance… Everyone rushed on the car to find the leak. The problem was solved and we rushed to endurance.

Before our outing, another problem occurred, the transponder was not working… we had to borrow one from someone and modify the mounting location… The car was out! Kris was the first to drive; he experienced some difficulties to shift. Meanwhile the wireless was still not working… at this point there is no surprise! Kris switched with Jeff and Jeff seemed to be on fire!! Making the quickest lap on track (according to the FSAE forums), Jeff was taking the slaloms very smoothly. A black flag was waved to us forcing us to stop. A leak was apparently seen on our car. Enough time had elapsed to penalize us greatly before the marshals realized that there were no leaks whatsoever…

Jeff completed the endurance race, bringing a second success for University of Manitoba, consecutively. We rushed to meet the guys and cheered them on! We learned later that we had placed 17th in endurance and 20th overall!!

We are all very happy of the results, bringing back UofM's best result at an SAE competition!!! We went to celebrate, which I absolutely do not regret ;)… A big thanks to Jared Conway for his support throughout the competition!!

Aiming for better results in the upcoming years!!
