The University of Manitoba Student Chapter of SAE International (UMSAE) is a non-profit student organization made up of 4 design teams, each of which designs a unique vehicle. The Aero Design, Baja, Formula Electric and Formula teams each provide post secondary students with unique and exciting fast paced and hands on experiences, allowing them to develop design, manufacturing and team building skills amongst many others!
The UMSAE Aero Design team designs and constructs a scale remote controlled aircraft designed to carry as heavy a payload as possible.
The UMSAE Baja team designs and builds a small light weight all terrain off-road vehicle to endure rugged terrain and poor weather conditions.
The UMSAE Formula Electric team designs and builds an electric formula style race car in order to perform in an autocross environment.
The UMSAE Formula team designs and builds a internal combustion driven formula style race car for an autocross type environment.
Well it is that time of year again, when the members of UMSAE's Design teams elect the new Executive Committee, this group will be responsible for managing UMSAE and it's collective interests for the next school year. This includes a new position for the 2013-2014 year, Equipment Director, who will be responsible for the upkeep, organization and oversight of UMSAE's equipment.
It's been a busy past few weeks around the University of Manitoba for the members of UMSAE. As all the design teams continued a fast paced build season in preparation for their various competitions, the whole organization has also has been helping out with various activities around the University of Manitoba for up and coming high school students here in Manitoba. ...
